They can be worn under team socks or as a 'normal' sock and to put it simply, they keep feet warm and dry even in the worst conditions. We were skeptical at first so we acquired a few pairs and passed them out for testing. The results were unequivocally positive - so much so that we have given up any hope of getting the test samples back.
Trying is believing but just to be on the safe side, the manufacturer will replace any pair that leak as a result of a manufacturing defect. In normal use and with proper care - use of properly fitting footwear and following the washing instructions - you can expect to get at least a couple of Winters from each pair.
