PRO-Kit has three main priorities:
- To consult and work with parents, young players and adult players to ensure that they have the right kind of equipment in the right sizes so that their sporting development is accelerated and their enjoyment enhanced
- To offer the levels of quality, performance and protection required and deserved by those taking part in sports so that they can develop their ability and perform at their peak, irrespective of the stage they are at and the level of sport they are playing
- To offer optimum quality at the most competitive prices possible whilst, ensuring that we offer products to suit all budgets
|  Our ApproachThe PRO-Kit concept originates from cricket. We noticed that the massive popularity of the game in the wake of the 2005 Ashes triumph seemed to have created a mood of exploitation, rather than nurture amongst many manufacturers; the branding was terrific - the products and the quality were not!
The further we looked across other sports, the further the problem seemed to extend!
The Challenge
Potential problems exist on a number of levels, but fundamentally we are seeing more and more people playing sport in badly sized, inappropriate equipment offering poor levels of protection. We need to coach young players to succeed and to achieve without losing sight of the fact that they are playing for their own enjoyment (not just ours!) and to bolster their self-esteem (not just ours!)
We frequently see the following:
- Players, especially young players using equipment and protective equipment that is too big or too small for them, thereby impeding development, confidence and acquisition of skills
- Top of the range equipment bought for players who really don’t need it at their current stage of development
- Overpriced brand name kit that relies on endorsements from star players without always offering quality and value for money
- Such a glut of indifferent products on the market that players become overwhelmed with the choices offered, often making their decisions based on style or brand name rather than substance
Our Solution
The answer, we feel, is very simple; we started by augmenting our own extensive experience of both senior and junior cricket (and the equipment used) by leveraging the enormous expertise within the Pro-Coaching team. We then searched for a manufacturer with similar experience and expertise and who shared our commitment to quality and value. The result was the development of three ranges of equipment offering the sort of quality and protection normally seen only in adult equipment, whilst featuring modern, attractive styling. Most importantly and from bitter experience as parents of youth cricketers ourselves, we have put value for money at the heart of everything we do, offering an unrivalled combination of price and quality.
As well as offering top grade products, we pride ourselves on offering a range of supporting services aimed at ensuring that all our customers get the best possible equipment for their needs. Each main section of products within the shop contains a comprehensive buyer's guide, size guide and care guide to ensure that everyone gets the equipment that is right for them as an individual.
Whilst our primary driver is unquestionably offering young cricketers the quality of equipment they deserve, allowing them to grow and develop as cricketers, value for money comes a very close second. There are cheaper products on the market, but we do not believe there are cheaper products available that offer the levels of quality and protection across the range that PRO-Kit does.
For 2008, we will be taking this principle even further, offering selected equipment ranges in other major sports. We will also be launching 'PRO-Kit Essentials' - a good quality, sensibly priced range of basic sporting equipment to support those who are starting out in their chosen sport or simply trying it for size.
For all sorts of reasons sport is a hugely important thing in the lives of a great many people irrespective of age and ability. It keeps us fit and healthy, releases stress and tension, and provides us with confidence, pleasure and a boost to our self esteem. PRO-Kit cannot guarantee to make you a world beater, but if it is in you we will make it our business to ensure that it is not your sporting equipment that stops it from coming out.
